About
I practice medicine in the Philippines — trained in ophthalmology at Philippine General Hospital, where I managed surgical and outpatient cases across the full breadth of ophthalmic disease: glaucoma, cornea, retina, pediatric ophthalmology, and oculoplastics.
Before medicine, I studied geology at UP Diliman: how the earth stratifies, how time leaves its record in rock. Both disciplines ask the same question with different instruments — what happened here, and why?
More recently, I have been building digital tools for the clinic — an AI-assisted triage system for ophthalmology referrals, a platform for generating medical certificates, and an online intake tool for patient histories. The work sits at the edge of medicine and software, which is where I prefer to be.
Practice
Outpatient and emergency case management across departments at a secondary-level hospital, with structured clinical documentation and multidisciplinary team collaboration.
High-volume surgical and outpatient ophthalmology at the country's largest tertiary center. Managed complex cases spanning glaucoma, cornea, retina, pediatric ophthalmology, oculoplastics, and ocular oncology. Contributed to academic case presentations and subspecialty protocol development.
Primary care and public health leadership for a rural municipality. Facilitated PhilHealth accreditation, enabling expanded services. Led community health programs and managed COVID-19 patient monitoring under home isolation.
Digital Health
An AI-assisted triage tool for ophthalmology referrals — helps general practitioners evaluate which cases need urgent specialist attention before sending to a tertiary center.
A platform for generating medical certificates quickly and reliably for clinics and healthcare providers. Reduces administrative burden and standardizes documentation.
A web application for collecting a patient's History of Present Illness online, with text and voice input for more convenient, structured patient intake before the consultation.
